AudioGrabber is a complete solution to create perfect copies of CD audio on your hard drive and to rip CDs directly to MP3 format. It integrates with the Freedb online database to retrieve track information (artist, title etc.) for the songs on the CD, and can automatically name the saved files based on that information and add IDtags to MP3 and also WAV files. The program verifies that your copies are identical to the original, using a checksum comparison. Additional features include 3 normalization, integrated player, support for external encoders and much more. AudioGrabber allows you to rip your CDs either to WAV file, or MP3 with or without intermediate WAV files, allowing you to keep a copy of the WAV in addition to the MP3 version. The program works very fast and reliable, and provides you with everything you need to transfer your CDs to your computer or portable device. (Used to be shareware)

Tip: If you download lame-3.97 (613) and extract the zip and then copy and paste:
lame_enc.dll and lame.exe to the AudioGrabber folder you can then rip to a higher mp3 bitrate (128+).
Open AudioGrabber > Settings > mp3 > External Encoder > and browse to Lame.exe and make sure you button the Grab to:
MP3 file via intermediate WAV file. Delete the WAV file.

Dark-e.com Ripper can make CDs into MP3's. The MP3 files are created directly from the CD, it does not make .wav files first and then converts them to mp3's. The program offers encoding options from 96 kbps to 320 kbps, can automatically create ID3 tags, customize the file names by adding text to the end and more. In addition Dark-e Ripper supports online CD lookups via CDDB.
There is no pro version, no spyware and no banners.

dBpowerAMP can convert to and from Wave, Mp3 and from CD Audio (CDA) files, rip audio CDs, view ID3 tag information and more. It works from the Windows Explorer right click menu, where it provides quick access to one-click conversion as well as a new pop-up info box that displays detailed file information for supported formats. In addition, you can use dBpowerAMP to extract (rip) files from a CD, featuring automatic CDDB support. CD Ripping is very fast and according to the developer s tests it claims to be the fastes around.
You can install optional Codecs for additional conversion
options (e.g. WMA to MP3).
dMC is by far the best and feature rich ripper I've ever used. Fantastic!

FreeRip MP3 is a tool that can record digital audio tracks directly from compact discs, without going through your sound card (this process is known as "ripping"). You can save tracks as CD-quality WAV files or encode them to Ogg Vorbis or MP3 compressed audio format. Moreover you can encode existing 16 bit WAV files to Ogg Vorbis or MP3 format. CDDB and ID3 Tagging are supported, moreover FreeRIP MP3 integrates an installing facility for the Ogg Vorbis Plugin for Winamp.

The program is ad supported but does not use your internet connection, all banners are included in the package.
